Specializing in clinically-based treatment of perinatal depression and anxiety, grief related to pregnancy loss and infertility, and other challenges related to motherhood. Now offering in-person and online therapy.
After more than 10 years of clinical experience working in the hospital setting with women during the most vulnerable and courageous time of their lives—from pregnancy and childbirth through the postpartum period-- I can offer a unique understanding of the issues many women face during an experience that is supposed to be wonderful and happy. Anxiety, pregnancy loss, and prenatal and postpartum depression can be devastating, and leave a woman feeling helpless, scared, and guilty. Utilizing a supportive therapeutic approach, I specialize in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, as well as grief related to pregnancy loss and infertility. I also provide general counseling services for women-- improving relationships, building self confidence, and adjusting to a new identity in Motherhood.
Appointments are available via secure telehealth connection for online therapy, or at my new office location in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
I am licensed to practice independent/clinical social work in both Louisiana (#9349) and Alabama (#4348C) .

Experts estimate that up to 20% of mothers will experience symptoms of anxiety and depression either during pregnancy or in the Postpartum period. These symptoms are more severe than Baby Blues, and can greatly affect a woman's confidence and ability to function in her new role. Therapy has been shown to be highly effective in alleviating these symptoms. If you are struggling, just not feeling like yourself, or having thoughts that are scaring you, please call me. The first step is reaching out for help.
The loss of a baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death is something no one should ever have to face. Unfortunately, it does occur, and when it does the effects can be devastating. Postpartum depression and anxiety can occur following a pregnancy loss, and differs from usual symptoms of grief. If you have suffered a pregnancy loss and are concerned about the way you are feeling, please call. Supportive therapy can help.
Anxiety and depression can occur with any life transition, not just motherhood. Relationship issues, feeling stressed and overwhelmed in your daily life responsibilities, managing your work-life balance-- all are a potential source of unhappiness in the modern woman's life. Thankfully, supportive therapy can help.
